At Ordinary Faith, we’re a husband and wife who’ve experienced God’s presence in the messy, everyday moments of life and faith. We don’t have all the answers, but we’re here to walk alongside you, sharing what we’ve learned. Through 1-on-1 spiritual direction, group sessions, and online courses, we offer simple, honest ways to help you grow in your faith and connect with God in real life. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just longing for something deeper, we’re here to walk with you—online or in person.
SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR & HOSPITALITY QUEEN
Lauren James
Lauren James is a trauma-informed spiritual director who believes spiritual direction is a sacred space to process, heal, and grow. With a background in behavior analysis, she is particularly interested in how our environments shape our understanding and experience of God. She specializes in processing birth stories, navigating life as a person of color, overcoming shame within sexuality, and stepping into ministry and leadership as a woman.
Lauren believes in original goodness—that we are created in love and for love. She holds that “the least of these” often reveal the most of God and that joy is a necessary container for the inevitable suffering we will face in life.
She studied spiritual formation at the Portland Seminary at George Fox University and has advanced training in spiritual direction. A former church leader who designed and implemented discipleship curriculum, Lauren is also a wife and mom to a toddler and newborn, who are her greatest joys. She is currently accepting new clients starting in April 2025.

Clinton James
Clinton James is a passionate teacher, musician, pastor, and spiritual companion dedicated to creating spaces where people can encounter God’s presence. With years of experience leading worship in diverse church settings, Clinton carries a heart for authentic, Spirit-led worship that invites transformation and renewal.
Currently serving as a Worship Leader in the Northwest Ohio area, Clinton leads with a deep love for God, a commitment to biblical truth, and a desire to see lives changed through worship. His leadership is marked by humility, excellence, and a pastoral heart that shepherds both his team and the congregation.
Beyond the platform, Clinton is deeply invested in spiritual formation. He creates courses, leads group spiritual direction, and co-runs retreats at Ordinary Faith. Together, they are passionate about equipping others to live from a place of deep communion with God.
Clinton is also a devoted husband and loving father to their two children. He and Lauren navigate the joys and challenges of ministry and family life, pursuing God’s calling with faith and perseverance.
