Finding God in the Ordinary Spaces
Why There’s a Giant Bible on a Cake Pan in My Kitchen (Well…Almost)
I saw a post recently about someone keeping a giant Bible open on a cake pan in their kitchen, and honestly? It stopped me in my tracks. Not because it was unusual, but because it made so much sense.
Right now, my days are full—full of little hands needing me, full of tasks that never seem to end, full of moments that slip by before I can even think about “quiet time.” But what if Scripture didn’t have to be a separate thing? What if it lived right in the middle of where I already spend my time?
That post reminded me that being immersed in the Word doesn’t have to look like an hour of silence before sunrise. It can look like open pages in the spaces I move through all day. Glancing at a verse while making lunch. Meditating on a passage while rocking a baby. Letting truth sink in between the ordinary moments of life.
So no, I don’t (yet) have a Bible sitting on a cake pan in my kitchen. But I just might. Because right now, I need reminders that God meets me right where I am—in the mess, in the motion, in the middle of it all.
Where are you finding God in your everyday ordinary spaces?
